I purchased Office Home and Business full version through a 3rd party website. When I try to install, it only offers bit install package which conflicts with the existing bit Office software on my machine. I have diligently searched for a resolution on how to install bit Office Home and Business full version.

Microsoft only gives details on how to install bit Office which is not what I just purchased. Looking for a solution has been hugely frustrating. As complicated as it is to architect software, I would think that Microsoft could see this coming down the pipe and offer easy to find solutions, rather than re-directing all searches back to the same page for Office fixes which don’t help my issue.

I’m suspecting the 3rd party website I purchased from did not disclose that the purchase was only bit, but I really don’t know yet. Having to wait for them to respond. Your Office license gives you the right to install either 32 or 64 bit versions. MS defaults to 32 bit, which is giving you a problem.

I got to the Microsoft login multiple times before I created this question on the forum. The problem is once I log in and initiate a download it defaults to bit with no way to select bit. I opened a ticket with support. The rep asked to remote in to my computer, then find a link that only she had visibility to and share it with me.

Then I opened another ticket to hopefully fix this for future people who might run into the problem and went in circles work much frustration due to their responses.

That rep never resolved that concern so I guess if anyone else has the same issue they will have to jump through hoops like I did and scratch their head wondering why Microsoft can’t provide a straightforward means to download bit versions of their software.
